"Aswannaka Waruna" an event featuring rituals and artistic displays rooted in traditional heritage, was held on July 21, 2026, at the kamatha (traditional threshing floor) near the Pol aththe Linda in Medagampola. The event was jointly organized by the Alawwa Divisional Secretariat, the Divisional Cultural Council, and the residents of Medagampola and Maldeniya, under the guidance of the North Western Province Ministry of Cultural and Art Affairs and the North Western Province Department of Cultural Affairs.
